“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” -Hellen Keller
On August 16th, thousands of lightning strikes across the state began a surge of wildfires. Low humidity and high winds fanned the flames of many smaller fires, merging them together into larger wildfire complexes. Twenty fires started across five counties: Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, Stanislaus and San Joaquin. For a week now our local and not-so-local heroes have been fighting the SCU Complex Fire, keeping the flames at bay from our beloved town. On August 23rd, many of our clients were ordered to evacuate and leave their homes in the hands of those fighting the fires. Since then, they have been able to return with a warning of evacuation. We are forever thankful for all of the firefighters, shelter volunteers & good samaritans transporting livestock.
Stay strong Morgan Hill. We are in this together.
